Dear Friends:
This blog is meant to be a means of communication for friends about the continued progression of her terminal condition. You can leave questions, concerns, comments, thoughts, prayers and blessings anytime. There will be a daily update here for you to read according to our observations of her progression.
I do regret to tell you that by her request she has asked that there be no more visitors to the house. The only people whom we are allowing over is immediate family and hospice care workers. She is unable to to articulate her words enough to carry on a conversation. She knows what she wants but is unable to tell us fast enough and she gets frustrated with her self. It will only put more of a burden on her to keep trying to push herself into something she just cant do. She continues to eat well daily and is beginning to sleep through the nights more. Daytimes naps are now becoming more of a need as well. She is still able to get up and walk but is rather weak. We have resorted to using her wheel chair to take her to and from the bathroom, which is working out very well. She no longer smoking cigarettes. We have found a way around it by handing her an ashtray and a unlit cig. and she doesn't know the difference. So it appeases her desire to smoke.
The Chaplin came out to visit her yesterday and prayed with her. I think that did her allot of good. She told us she was looking for some peace and she was hoping he could help her. She now has nurses assistants coming over Mon, Wed, & Friday to help her do personal things like bath, change cloths, & brush her teeth. She is appreciating that very much.
Please be patient with us if we do not get back to your questions right away. It is a full time job being her primary care givers. We will get back to you as soon as we can. Thanks
Jason, Julie & Britt
